Spring Sports Academy proved that team effort can kill the best of the Giant teams. Captain Arjun Nehru marshaled his troops well and executed the game plan with perfection to restrict ICC to 159. Yuvraj Jaisingh was the only impressive with a well-made 40 and Vedant Deshpande in the end with a cameo of 29 of just 18 balls.
Spring bowlers (with their NEW look of the outfit) bowled a tight Line and Length and the fielders supported them well. Makeshift keeper Faris could be seen flying around who made some exceptional stops.
SSA move to counter-attack strong ICC attacked clicked with Vijay Nandakumar hitting important 27runs with 2 BIG sixes. Karthik Nair was a treat to watch in his flow as he anchored the inning with some effortless copybook style boundaries. Nithin Kumar joined in at the fall of Vijay’s wicket, and he was on a mission. He was on a boom boom mode with a couple of crisp boundaries and one clearing at ease.
Karthik threw his wicket, but this gave chance to an ever-smiling Shahrukh Ameen to finish the game with a well-timed six over extra cover.
All in all, it was a great team effort that brought an easy win to Spring Sports Academy against the Giants ICC academy.
