SPRING U16 Stuns Sharjah Academy

SPRING SPORTS ACADEMY U16 STUNS Sharjah Cricket Academy by getting them ALL-OUT at only 44 Runs in ECB 2020 League

A beautiful sunny day in Vision Ground where Spring Sports Academy U16 team played their first game of Emirates Cricket Board U-16 2020-21 Tournament against Sharjah Cricket Academy (SCA). Spring won the toss and chose to bat first with Rayhan and Ryan Neel opening the batting. Spring was off to a slow start scoring only 39 with already 5 wickets down in the powerplay. At that time Angad and Abdulla were at the crease and slowly built a solid partnership of 46, improving the run rate. When Angad’s wicket fell, Aradhya went in and continued to improve Spring’s score and managed to put up a total of 120 in 23.3 overs.

Sharjah CA NEEDS 121 TO WIN
The chase for an easy target of below run-a-ball SCA’s Aryansh came to the crease with Zain Ullah at non-striker. Abdulla with the new ball and opened with a golden duck taking Aryansh’s edge to caught behind, providing a great start to Spring’s bowling. But SCA still had a long way to go as Harshit Seth came to the crease. Nivyan bowled the second over, bowled out Harshit with another first-ball-wicket and Harshit walked back without causing any damage. This was the turning point for Spring as they got out early the both targeted batsmen. From there onwards it was smooth sailing for Spring, with the selected bowlers doing their job and restricting the batsmen. SCA wickets of all sorts were tumbling non-stop and the runs per over were literally in binary. Aradhya finished it off as he took the final wicket by LBW, nailing SCA All-out at for only 44 within 12.5 Overs.

Score Summary:
Spring Sports Academy All-out at 120 in 23.3 Overs

Another highlight, Spring’s wicketkeeper Mohammed Rayhan (doing justice to the new No. “7” he is carrying on his jersey) was part of 5 Dismissals of SCA batsmen (2 Catches, 1 Stumping and 2 Run-out Assists).

Aradhya was named Man of the Match with his brilliant performance with both ball and bat, taking 3 wickets and scoring a quick 24(19).
