ECB 2020 SPRING U19 A-DIV starts with a WIN

ISMAIL, ABDULLA, VIJAY and AMMAR STARS in SPRING SPORTS ACADEMY U19 Division-A CRICKET TEAM VICTORY

Spring Sports Academy U19 Cricket Team Clinch their first victory from the jaws of defeat against Max Talent Cricket Academy in the Emirates Cricket Board U19 Cricket league played over the weekend.

The Star performers of the Spring Team, the leg spin duo Vijay, Ammar in the bowling aspect, Saleem and Ismail in the batting aspect.

Max Talent won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny day at the Lush Green Vision Cricket Ground, in the middle of the desert, located at the Dubai – Hatta road.

The Max Talent openers were in great form, scoring 113 runs in 15 overs for no loss. Ammar Shah (4 for 35 in 6 Overs), the slow leg spinner gave the first breakthrough by dismissing the opening batsman on the 16th over, and there onwards the Max Talent wickets started tumbling.

By introducing Vijay Nandakumar (4 for 24 in 5 Overs), another quick leggie, the Max Talent CA started losing wickets at regular intervals and they were bowled out for 186 in 29 Overs.

Spring Sports Academy had to chase 187 runs in 30 Overs, started the inning in a cautious manner against the accurate pace bowling attack of the Max Talent opening bowlers. Spring’s top-order batsman could not maintain the required run rate and lost their wickets too early. At the end of the 17th over, Spring SA displayed a score of only 70 runs after losing the top 5 batsmen in a row. Its was Mohammad Ismail (57*- 33b, 4×3, 6×5) who joined Abdulla Saleem (31-30b, 4×1, 6×3) put up 39 runs with 6th wicket partnership and showed up a total of 109 at the end of 22nd Over.

SSA needed 51 runs in 30 balls having 2 wickets in hand, the unassuming left-hander Mohammad Ismail started smacking the ball to all corners of the ground and won the match for Spring Sports Academy with 10 balls to spare.
